The Smarter way

Proven to Deliver Results

Tristen Petersen "Petey" - I played two years of Division I JUCO baseball, competing at a high level and earning valuable experience through a collegiate summer season as well. Those years shaped my understanding of what it takes physically and mentally to perform, prepare, and grow as a player. The competitive environment, daily work, and exposure to advanced coaching helped build the foundation for the instructor and leader I am today.
Over the past eight years, I’ve coached as a pitching coordinator and both JV and Varsity pitching coach for the Millard Sox and Marshalltown Community College, and I currently serve as the Head Coach for the Gretna East Freshmen team. Alongside my coaching experience, I’m a certified personal trainer working toward my nutrition certification to better support athletes in every aspect of their development. I’m passionate about guiding players toward their goals in a competitive yet informative environment, helping each athlete grow, gain confidence, and perform at their highest level.
Cade Herrmann - I’ve pitched across NCAA (Division 1 & 2), NAIA, and summer collegiate leagues. Over that time, I’ve made 149 career appearances on the mound and learned the game through every high, low, and challenge it threw at me. But the stats only tell a fraction of the story. What truly shaped me as a player — and now as a coach — was the adversity I had to overcome along the way.
In 2021, I suffered a UCL injury that forced me to hit reset on my entire career. I had to relearn everything from the ground up: my mechanics, how my body moved, how to create velocity safely, and how to stay efficient on the mound. That process was frustrating, humbling, and one of the best things that ever happened to me. It made me smarter, tougher, and far more intentional with how I train.
Now, I get to pass all of that on to the athletes I coach. I know what it feels like to struggle, to rebuild, and to come back even better — and I use that experience every time I work with a player. My coaching style is clear, detailed, and personal. I focus on helping each pitcher understand why things matter, not just what to do. My goal is to help you become the best version of yourself on the mound, stay healthy, and have fun competing.
I’ve lived the ups and downs of this game, and now I’m here to make that road smoother for the next generation of pitchers.
